Original Items. One-of-a-Kind. This is a great pair of scrapbooks to the families of Naval Aviation Cadet Warren E. Evans and USMC Captain John Walker, respectively. Evans’ scrapbook contains a great deal of paperwork regarding his enlistment in 1942 and his several years of aviation training including photographs and mementos like matchbooks and Western Union telegrams. The Walker scrapbook is almost entirely a home personal scrapbook including photos and momentos from his wedding, his wife’s life at home, letters from friends and family, Western Union telegrams, and some Marine Corps related items.

The Evans scrapbook has roughly 22 pages with content but there are SEVERAL documents sitting together in the back pages not pasted in, including his honorable discharge, letters from the Secretary of the Navy, and several documents regarding his return to civilian life, including an informational sheet about educational benefits under the G.I. Bill. There’s also some of his hair. An interesting piece of U.S. Naval history!

The Marine corps scrapbook has many loose pages and a ton of photos, but as previously stated most of these are homefront and not military-related. They measure approximately 11 1/2" x 16" (Blue Cover) and 12" x 14" (Red Cover) in size.

This is a great pair of scrapbooks ready for further research and display!
